Experience

Hi, my name is Lindsay and I am a counselling intern with Stone Reef. I am currently in the final stages of my Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology with an expected completion date of December 2026. My approach is warm and trauma-informed, with a focus on collaborating with you to reach your goals.

I began my career working in youth mentorship, where I spent several years supporting at-risk youth. This experience strengthened my skills in crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and building trust with diverse populations. Prior to starting my practicum, I worked as a counsellor in a residential treatment setting, where I supported individuals in addiction recovery through compassionate, client-centered care.

As a person-centered therapist, I am deeply committed to fostering a non-judgemental, empathetic environment where clients feel safe, heard, and supported in their healing. I also work collaboratively with clients to identify patterns in their thoughts, emotions, and relationships that may be shaping their current experiences, supporting greater self-awareness and meaningful change.

I work with individuals navigating a range of concerns, including addiction and recovery, anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I integrate a variety of therapeutic modalities into my work, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Strength-Based Therapy, and Family Systems Therapy.

I believe that healing happens through connection, safety, and feeling understood. It is a privilege to work alongside clients as they navigate challenges and move toward a more fulfilling and balanced life.

Education

I am currently completing a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University. This builds on a strong academic foundation that includes a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology and Psychology from Vancouver Island University. Earlier in my career, I also completed a Certified Dental Assistant program, where I received academic honours.

Accreditation / Licensing

I am currently a student member of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) and the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). I am in the process of completing my Master’s degree requirements toward professional registration.
